Terms of service

These terms explain the conditions for using Tuto. They apply from the moment you create or use a Tuto account.

Last updated: 10 October 2026

1. Who provides Tuto

Tuto is provided by Stepan Orlov, trading as Tuto, Schivelbeiner Str. 49, 10439 Berlin, Germany ("Tuto", "we", or "us"). You can contact us at stepan@hey-tuto.com.

2. The service

Tuto helps language teachers document lessons, process lesson material, and prepare follow-up such as summaries, exercises, vocabulary practice, and homework. Features may change as we improve the service.

Tuto's outputs are suggestions. You remain responsible for reviewing them before using or sharing them, especially where they concern a learner's progress, language, or learning material.

3. Your account

Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials confidential, and do not let anyone else use your account. You are responsible for activity through your account unless it results from our fault.

You may stop using Tuto at any time. Contact us if you need help accessing or deleting your account data.

4. Lesson data and recordings

You decide what lesson material you enter into Tuto. Before you upload, record, transcribe, analyse, or share personal data through Tuto, you must make sure you have a lawful basis to do so and provide any information required to the people concerned.

In particular, you are responsible for ensuring that every participant in a recorded lesson has been informed and has given any permission required for the recording and the intended use of the recording. Do not use Tuto to record or share material unlawfully.

When you use Tuto with learner or other lesson-participant data, the Data Processing Agreement forms part of our agreement. You must accept it before submitting that data.

5. Your content and our rights to operate the service

You keep the rights in content you submit to Tuto. You grant us the limited right to host, copy, process, and transmit that content only as necessary to provide and secure the service in line with our Privacy Policy and, where it applies, the Data Processing Agreement.

Tuto and its software, design, and branding are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose while your account remains active.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Tuto available and secure, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may maintain, update, or change the service where reasonably necessary, taking your legitimate interests into account.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or under mandatory product-liability law. In all other cases, liability is governed by applicable law.

8. Consumers and paid plans

Tuto does not currently offer a self-service paid plan or checkout. If we introduce one, we will show the applicable price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms, payment methods, and all required pre-contract information before an order is placed. Our purchase information explains the intended checkout disclosures, and consumer cancellation rights are explained in our Cancellation policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or legal requirements change. For material changes, we will give reasonable notice where required. The current version is published on this page.
